West's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

31-year old American forward Nick West (210-F-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for Al-Muharraq and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
He had a double-double of 30 points and 16 rebounds, while his team outclassed Kazma (#4, 1-3) with 28-point margin 92-64. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Al-Muharraq is placed at 3rd position in West Asia Super League. Al-Muharraq is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. West turned to be Al-Muharraq's top player in his first season with the team. Alabama A&M University graduate has very impressive stats this year. West is in league's top in points (6th best: 24.3ppg) and averages solid 62.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Joffrey Lauvergne (211-C-1991) of top-ranked Al Kuwait SC. He is French center in his first season at Kuwait. In the last game Lauvergne recorded an impressive double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Kuwait to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Al Arabi (#4, 1-3) 93-58. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Kuwait consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team has currently 3-1 record. Lauvergne is a newcomer at Kuwait and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Al-Muharraq's star - forward Mohammed Hamoda (198-PF-1995). Hamoda scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was another key player of Al-Muharraq, helping his team with a 92-64 easy win against #4 ranked Kazma. Al-Muharraq needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Hamoda has a very solid season. In 4 games in West Asia Super League he scored 14.8ppg.
